Konan Medical ColorDx® CCT HD®

Overview

The ColorDx® CCT HD® is the gold standard in high-precision diagnostic colour vision testing, developed in collaboration with the U.S. Air Force School of Aerospace Medicine. It expands on the strengths of the original USAF cone-isolation contrast test (Rabin CCT) with entirely new architecture, enabling detection of subtle colour and contrast sensitivity changes missed by traditional tests like Ishihara plates. Used to assess acquired colour vision deficiencies in diabetic retinopathy, glaucoma, AMD, MS, and post-cataract surgery, it provides both qualitative and quantitative assessment of visual function.

Key Features

Cone-isolation contrast sensitivity methodology — detects L-, M-, and S-cone (blue-yellow) deficiencies
Expanded low-contrast range testing with "Landolt C" based test strategies
Robust Bayesian threshold measurement with standard error calculation
Custom-calibrated IPS matte display with precision USB colorimeter for routine calibrations
Simple 4-button response pad with rapid, intuitive staged calibration
High fidelity cone-contrast granularity for CVN (colour vision normal) individuals to research baseline and early disease detection
Contrast sensitivity (achromatic) testing with auto AUC calculation
Expansive illustrated reporting with auto trend analysis for longitudinal tracking
Binocular testing capability — not possible with older RCCT systems
Detects effects of common drugs, supplements, cataracts, and environmental stressors on colour vision
FDA Listed | CPT Code 92283 | TGA Approved | Available in Canada
Substantial improvement over historical pseudo-isochromatic tests (Ishihara plates) and earlier cone contrast systems
